SilverStar Mountain Resort

  • Mar 26, 2019: “We had the opportunity to go up to SilverStar to see the last official day of our granddaughters ski lessons, and what a wonderful experience it was, The village is always up beat and a real festive party atmosphere. Lots of new things to see this year including the Gondola . This resort, has a lot to offer, from restaurants and shops, accommodations, to an amazing Little Rippers, ski program for the kids. I would highly recommend this, well worth the trip. A true destination for the whole family.” 0
  • Mar 22, 2019: “Small resort about an hour from Kelowna. Good range of well groomed runs. Village is in the centre of the resort with a limited range of restaurants. Only one place to eat on the mountain. Skiing takes place on the frontside and backside, the advantage being as the front side warms up you can move over to the back. Very much an older persons and family resort.” 1
  • Mar 18, 2019: “We enjoyed a three day ski vacation at SilverStar Mountain Resort in early March. We chose to stay in a ski-in ski-out condo at Creekside Condos. We were able to start each day by skiing out to the Silver Queen chair lift. What a great way to start the day! The runs are groomed, groomed, groomed. We appreciated the signs at the top of the lifts with up-to-date information about which runs were groomed each morning, but no run seemed to go for more than two days without being groomed again. Many of the black diamond runs were fast as they’re steep and groomed. We finally found a few bumps to play on under the gondola. We waited until the afternoon when the snow had softened a bit and then enjoyed these features. The staff at SilverStar is spectacular. Many of the employees are from Australia with just a few staff members from Canada. (The name tags are great.) We were greeted by staff at ski lifts, helped by staff at front desks, and treated well by everyone we met. In particular, the T-bar operator was patient with folks who needed a bit more time to get set up for this lift and the gondola staff was helpful loading our wider-than-usual skis. Other skiers seemed to be locals from Vernon or Vancouver, or from far far away (Australia or the UK, primarily.) We did not meet any other folks from Washington. On our first morning, we lucked into meeting a local from Vernon who spent two hours showing us around the mountain, both on the front side and the back side. His friendliness and enthusiasm for his home resort set us up for a fabulous visit. Apparently, this type of unofficial ‘host’ tourism is not uncommon at this friendly resort. The mountain could have benefited from a refresh of more snow, but we were fine and really enjoyed our time skiing at SilverStar.” 2
