Sea Wolf Adventures connects travellers to destinations in the Broughton Archipelago and the Great Bear Rainforest for grizzly bear viewing, wilderness and wildlife experiences, and First Nations cultural tours. Your guides are well trained in tradition and wildlife guiding. They will give you a deeper experience into First Nations culture and heritage of the Kwakwaka’wakw Nation. Safe. True. U’mista Cultural Centre is one of the longest-operating and most successful First Nations cultural facilities in BC, founded in 1980 as a ground breaking project to house potlatch artifacts which had been seized by government during an earlier period of cultural repression. The return of the potlatch artifacts not only provided U’mista’s name (‘the return of something important’), and sparked a general trend toward repatriation of First Nations and cultural artifacts, it caused the creation of a physical facility and human resources infrastructure which have been successfully operated for over two decades.U’mista now operates a modern museum and cultural education facility in Alert Bay. Their operations include the museum, an extensive art gallery and gift shop, group tours, and presentations by dance troupes.

Mosaic Earth specializes in immersive small-group tours in rural British Columbia & the Yukon with a focus on nature-based adventure and Indigenous cultural immersion. Destinations include North Vancouver Island (Campbell River, Telegraph Cove, Alert Bay, Port Hardy), the Sunshine Coast (Gibsons to Egmont), West Chilcotin (Williams Lake to Bella Coola), and Yukon (Whitehorse to Dawson City).

Since 1986 we have been operating tours in the pristine waterways of Queen Charlotte Strait, Johnstone Strait (Robson Bight), and Blackfish Sound. This area is considered the best place to find Northern resident orca. Large numbers of humpback whales also congregate here during the summer months. Other marine mammals such as Biggs (transient) orca, minke whales, Pacific white-sided dolphins, Dalls porpoises, sea otters, Northern sea lions, and harbour seals are regularly sighted on tours. We take 11 people maximum and pride ourselves in offering a more personalized approach to whale watching. The small group sizes offer more intimacy with the wildlife and an opportunity to interact with the skipper. The boat has a marine toilet onboard and provides enough space that when stationary, guests are welcome to move about the boat to take photographs and enjoy the dynamic scenery and wildlife. It is a perfect whale watching platform. We offer ethical, educational, and meaningful experiences.

Our 135-foot landing craft transports heavy equipment & freight, as you enjoy rugged coastal scenery & abundant sea life. Our chef will prepare first class meals while you experience the ambience of small group cruising and journey off the beaten track where no big cruise ship will ever go. With no more than 11 fellow passengers, your crew of six will take excellent care of you on your 5-night, 6-day voyage. Watch as heavy equipment rolls on board and see freight of all types discharged at the many stops along the way. Visit working logging camps, remote villages and other unique coastal destinations. Pull up a deck chair and enjoy the sun as we sail past numerous tidal rapids and flowing waterfalls. Observe marine wildlife in their natural surroundings and disembark on secluded beaches and stroll old growth forests.

Led by an experienced guide, our small groups journey to remote areas in western Canada. One trip is “8 Days in Haida Gwaii, a low key, active trip with a cultural focus. One day, we take in the site of the village of Skedans. The next day, we may visit a carver in his studio, or perhaps get smudged. All while, we tread lightly on this land, our steps taking us closer to an immersive experience.

Culture Shock Interactive Gallery is a 100% Aboriginal owned and operated Gallery in Alert Bay on the northern tip of Vancouver Island. We offer interactive First Nations cultural experiences including cedar weaving, traditional salmon barbeque, storytelling and traditional ocean-going canoe tours. We also retail local First Nations art including jewellery, carvings, clothing and documentary films.
